An impacted tooth may require surgery to remove

If a patient has an Insufficient amount of room in the dental arch to accommodate a tooth’s growth, it may lead to an impacted tooth. In some cases, surgery may be required to remove the tooth.

A patient may experience mild discomfort and swelling when an impacted tooth is extracted. To relieve some of the discomfort, a cold compress should be applied to the wound. If our dentist prescribes a pain medication, it should be taken as directed. Also, patients should avoid chewing food on the side of the extraction for 2 to 3 days following the procedure to encourage faster healing.
