Electric Handpieces

Electric handpieces allow for better dental care

Advances in technology are making the dentist’s office a less intimidating location.

Electric handpieces are quickly replacing traditional air-driven ones, which is making the dentist’s drill a little more tolerable. The electric handpiece can remove decay from teeth easier and faster than ever before which is allowing dentists to be able to clear decay with more efficiency, greatly reducing the time patients have to be in the dentist’s chair.

The electric handpiece is more efficient than its air-driven predecessor because the electric motor can spin the cleaning bur faster, which produces smooth and constant torque that does not vary as the bur meets resistance from the tooth. The result is faster drilling and better accuracy.
