Panorex

Panorex technology is being used by more dentists

Our dentist at Apopka Smiles is now able to capture complete views of a patient’s upper and lower jaws, teeth, temporomandibular joints, and sinuses by using the Panorex digital imaging technology. The new X-ray technology allows our team to take a 360-degree picture of the teeth, head, sinuses, and bones, which allows us to identify issues that a normal X-ray cannot.

The patient will sit in a chair and place their chin on a small ledge that is part of the Panorex, which then takes a 360-degree picture as it rotates around the patient’s head.

A tremendous amount of information can be captured when a dentist is able to view the full structure of the head. Potential problems may be detected earlier so better treatment decisions can be evaluated sooner. The Panorex is also capable of viewing specific types of structural problems and infections.
